What documentation is required to get married?
At least 31 days prior to your ceremony the "Notice of Intended Marriage" form is required to be completed. This form is valid for 18 months so can be completed up to18 months prior to your wedding date.
To complete this Notice of Intended Marriage Form, you will need to provide the following information:

Birth Certificates – These must be original or certified copies from the country of birth

Or Passports – If you can’t lay your hands on your birth certificate you can provide your current valid passport instead

Overseas passports are permissible so long as they are in English or have been translated by an officially approved certified NAATI Translator

If either of you has been divorced, you will need your Decree Absolute

If either of you has been widowed, you will need this Death Certificate

On your wedding day, as part of the ceremony two nominated witnesses over the age of 18years must be available.

Booking fee/deposit paid following initial meeting is non-refundable

Final fees are required to be paid one month prior to solemnisation of the marriage

All legal documents will be submitted with Birth, Deaths and Marriages within 14 days of your wedding date.

Additionally a request for your legal "Official Marriage Certificate" can be submitted on your behalf with the Attorney Generals Department together with the submission of your legal marriage registration forms. This certificate can be requested by yourself personally and seperately if preferred. The additional fee of $72.50*will be applicable. (*Rate provided valid for South Australia at 01 July 2024 and may be subject to changes/variation dependent on the state marriage is officiated).
